  We stayed in one of the Penthouse rooms in the Grand Hotel Downtown with a shared roof terrace that offered spectacular views across Amsterdam. The room was very comfortable and quiet with a fridge and tea/coffee making facilities (often not provided in Hotels in Europe). The Hotel is very conveniently placed for exploring the city. We were keen to find a Hotel with secure, reasonably priced on-site parking and the Gr - The hotel itself is very new. Everything in the room was immaculate, and came with free coffee and tea. The bathroom was heated (a luxury in the winter!) The wifi was very fast, and useful. The building is very cool, and has many hip restaurants surrounding it. It´s location is perfect for those who don´t want to be in the busiest part of the city. It´s about a 10 minute walk to the very center, and a 25 minute walk to the train station.   The weather was not great in amsterdam during our stay, but the hotel was perfect place to relax and meet other guests and so welcoming. It was the hightlight of our holiday and there were other enjoyable aspects to our stay in Amsterdam. I highly recommend this hotel to any travellers looking to enjoy a great valued option compared to other ones in this expensive city.
