  It was my first visit to Amsterdam. The boat is next to the centrall station (10 minutes walking) in a really quiet dock! We were living at 4:00 in the morning and they made us an early breakfast. - Very interesting as we'd never stayed on a boat only a big ship! The shower is the size of a walk-in close and it's ridiculously clean. Maid services the room everyday. 24 Hour snack bar and juices are awesome! This hotel ticked all. Epically liked the food and drink to yourself to coffee without asking. Close to the city centre yet quite. The owner takes great pride in his hotel and it shows. The hotel retains the character of a Dutch house, yes there are steep steps but that adds, so many hotels are bland chains…enjoy!

  We stayed in the basement Studio flat which was excellent and suited us. The location of Kalkmarkt is very good next to a canal and only a short walk to restaurants, the City Center and Central railway station. The owners Veronika and Peter are very helpful and friendly and good communication when we made booking and with any queries we had. Toiletries are provided except for sha - The location is great. It s just about 10mins walking distance to the Amsterdam Central station which you can go everywhere from this station. And the house is very home feel with a kitchen. City people likes me enjoy a lot in this kind of town house. Besides, couple can enjoy simple cooking if you have been tired to eat outside during a long vacation. The flat is simple and clean as well. Absolutely recommended!

  We stayed at a newly renovated room and the design and comfort was perfect, room was also very clean. - Very comfortable bed, very good breakfast, tea/coffee maker. In our room there was a bathroom with (dark) glass wall - so you can see what's happening inside from the room - you have to decide on your own whether it's a plus or not :)
