I booked the hotel for my parents without having seen it before. I based it on reviews on this website, and every comment with a score of 9+ is... TRUE! It's a great place to stay, a very friendly owner who can arrange anything you want, very close in the city centre. If you ever want to experience being the only guest in a hotel in a great out-of-the-common place, try this one!.
We liked the fact that this is a really historic building, with splendid views. Very comfortable beds, great shower, wonderful B & O sound system. The location was great. The owner took time to tell us about the building, and helped us get a free parking space. Very helpful with any queries we had.alla recensioner »
A wonderful host welcome who presented his charming apartment with such enthusiasm.The interesting history of Haarlem was explained by Pieter and his recommendations for 'must see' places were spot on!.
Excellent location and the owner was the perfect host. A real place to totally relax and unwind and watch the world go by.

Location, historical building.
Just a watch-out: the hotel requires stairs climbing, so not suitable for people who can't take stairs easily.
The flat is not completely self contained, the owner had his office upstairs. However, if you closed the doors it was private, and we hardly saw the owner, so it was not a problem.
Some noise from the street and people at night, as the bedroom is at ground level. But it would not put me off from staying or recommending the apartment!.
