If you want to be treated like a client, go to hilton; if you want to be
treated as a guest, go to this place. The warm, caring, but also relaxed
and easy going attitude of the young people who run the B&B
perfectly fits the character of the renovated semi-historical building
overlooking one of the channels, the elegant, simple but well equipped,
bright and spacious rooms, fabulous large bed, quick and reliable
internet connection, rich and delicious breakfasts served with smile, as
well as. alla recensioner »
The location is very central, all rooms overlook the canal, the owner is
super nice and helpful, both the room and the bathroom are spacious and
have everything you may need there (I.E. hair dyer, bath robes, basic
cosmetics, complimentary bottle of bubbly, mini bar). You can get
anywhere by foot in less than 30 mins. Breakfast is massive and includes
freshly squeezed orange juice, eggs of choice, salmon, cheeses, fruit,
croissants etc. Maps and tourist guides are also available.

B&B1657 sits on a canal, with amazing views. It's in a great location with access to trams, easy walking to lots of good restaurants and shops. And the museums are easy to get to. The brothers and sister that own and manage the B&B are lovely and friendly, very helpful with information about Amsterdam. They've done a beautiful job of decorating the rooms in their canal house, with elegant simplicity and comfort. The breakfasts were delicious, and they were happy to customize the menu.
Absolutely loved it! We felt like the gentry of old over-looking the canal and we enjoyed being so close to both the Rembrandtplein and Waterlooplein plus easy tram rides.
The staff were extremely hospitable and accomodating. And the room and bathroom were comfortable and beautifully designed.
We'd definitely go again!!.
B&B 1657 is a true, narrow, steep-stepped canal house with a magic outlook on the the Herengracht. It was very comfortable, but most of all it was a memorable experience. The young owners were exceptionally charming and helpful and the location, just around from Rembrandts Plein was very convenient.
The staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly - offering tips of where to go/what to see and going to every length to ensure we enjoyed our stay in Amsterdam. Fantastic sized room/bathrooms with a lovely view of the Herengracht canal. We'll definitely be going back.
This was a very nice B&B: spacious room with a large and comfortable separate bathroom, nice beds, a free minibar and a wonderful breakfast. The location is perfect and the people who work there are young, enthusiastic and very friendly.
Hospitality of both owner and staff.
Breakfast made to order with a good variety of options.
Room was clean and spacious. Excellent view of street and canal. Great location. Would go again to this B&B.
The couple that runs this place are delightful, really helpful with any questions/advice on the city. The mini bar is free! The bathroom for Room 1 is amazing. The bedrooms were beautifully decorated.
Excellent location, can walk everywhere, Mikes Bike tours was fantastic and Sal, Els and girls were extremely helpful, though leaving you to enjoy the Amsterdam experience! Breakfast was excellent.
A very friendly comfortable place to stay. Good situation near the city centre. Good view over the canals. Our room and bathroom were wonderful.
Friendly, helpful staff. Wonderful location, overlooking Herrengracht & in nice area with plenty of cafes & restaurants.
Large rooms with free wifi and minibar. Comfortable bed and very luxurious bathroom. Pleasant service and fresh breakfast.
We liked the comfort, the breakfast, the courtesy drinks and hospitality. The well connected location was also a plus.
Wonderful B&B, location couldn't be better, comfy bed, awesome bath tub, whole experience was great!.
The hotel is jusy the greatest! The brothers who runs the hotel are very nice!

very nice friendly staff.
central location.
Lovely breakfast, location!excellent hoast.
everything. Excellent location, really nice and central neighbourhood. Friendly and helpfull staff, we will defintely go back again if we are visiting Amsterdam.
That I could not stay longer and meet Els once more.
I liked everything about the place - but it does sit on a busy intersection with trams and bikes, cars, motorcycles and pedestrians going by, so it can get noisy. We used ear plugs, and managed to sleep through the noise.
Only the steep narrow steps, which are an inescapable part of a 1657 house!.
The stairs are steep, like they are everywhere in this kind of houses in Amsterdam, no elevator. No problem for us, but probably it is for older or disabled people.
Steep winding staircase. Bathroom was appointed as private but was across the hall and therefore not ensuite.
There's nothing I didn't like. There are no tea/coffee making facilities but you have a free mini bar, so it works out well!.
Breakfast varied a little in quality depending on who was working that morning. This meant the standard was not so even.
nothing.
Too many floors. There is no elevetor.
steep stairs, but nothing to be done about this as it goes with the style of the property.
noisy throughout the night due to construction work in the general area.
access restricted, steep stairs.
the stairs are typical to older Amsterdam houses - very steep. may be unsuitable to people with physical difficulties.
Lighting could be better, difficult to read in bed.stairs.
