- Very beautiful riad, just like a museum! - Right in the medina, easy to access from one of the parking gate. It's hard to find without guide for the first time, but it's the same for most other riads in the medina. The hotel owner came to pick us up which was sweet. We would advice visitors to walk from the Parking towards the Blue Gate (outside the medina, walk around the wall) and once you reach the Blue Gate take a tour towards the riad- as the Blue Gate is at higher ground so walking towa.
alla recensioner » The hosts were very friendly and helpful. The Riad is their home and is decorated and furnished with all the care and comfort you would expect. Stunningly and expertly refurbished. Breakfast on the roof terrace (in summer) was delightful both for location and the actual breakfast. Centrally located in Fes this is an oasis of calm. Don't be put off by anyone saying you shouldn't stay in the Medina. It is safe and perfect for seeing all the sights. One tip is to get a car and guide from the infor. This is a truly wonderful place! I had a very busy time in Fes, and this riad provided a wonderful, calm, friendly sanctuary. The décor is beautiful and tasteful. It is perfectly clean and all of the staff couldn't be nicer. It is like staying in someone's fabulous home. Riad Kettani is truly in the heart of the medina - and once you persist in memorizing your way back, it is really not that hard to find! Asking locals for directions allows you an opportunity to interact with your environment, . that's not only a hotel its a museum, the owner " Dominique " managed to restore that old house used to be owned by " Kettani " family to one amazing Ryad, the room was beyond amazing, the interior the view from the roof, every little details been taking care of, to be honest if we ever got the chance to be in Fes again, and I'm sure we will, that's will be our hotel again & again & again, the staff member been so helpful , especially " Ilham " the house keeping manager there, every day. Great location - in the Fes Medina. The riad was beautifully appointed and comfortable. The tile work and wood carving were reminiscent of the the Alhambra - luxurious. The breakfast was sufficient and the restaurant for the evening meal was excellent. Although the staff and owner were friendly and helpful, better information (including a good map) about getting around in Fes would be beneficial. This is a wonderful place to stay at an affordable cost; we highly recommend this place. Atmosphere, style, facilities, staff. The managers did some pretty amazing renovation work here. It's like something straight out of the Arabian Nights, and very faithful to the original design of the riad - formerly a family house. Staff were very friendly and went out of the their way to give us all assistance we needed. Staying there was one of the highlights of being in Fés. This Riad was our first accommodation experience in Morocco. The manager, Abdu picked us up from the hotel and was all the time very attentive, kind and helpful. He really went out of his way trying to please us. So did the rest of the staff. Riad Kettani is a quiet and beautiful Riad and once you find it it's a very nice place to relax in after the chaos of the Fes Medina!. The Riad itself was absolutely beautiful and physically close to everything. Breakfast and dinners were both always readily available and of good quality. Despite the language barrier, the staff was very friendly and as accommodating as possible when approached with any requests. The roof deck offered lovely views of the entire city. Everything! An old building, beautifully restored. Rooms all furnished with local handmade furniture, bed linen etc. & very comfortable. A feast for the eyes! Owners & staff very helpful & friendly. It was such a welcome from the bustle of the city and the intensive nature of the Medina. It was a personable, charming and relaxing experience. Location, we where greeted outside the medina walls and escorted to our Riad which was a little way in and we would easily have been lost, so great service. The Riad was beautifully decorated. Certainly would stay here again. The space is absolutely beutifull, and the room is very large and confortable. there is no TV's and some other comun feutures, but i doubt you'll ever miss them while there. Very quiet considering the noise of the Medina outside. - Staff and owner are French, and can rarely speak English. But they try to help as much as they can. - Traditional mocorro slippers were prepared in the room, which was sweet. However, they are not new previous guests had wore them... I'm not sure about others but to me this is a little off putting. - Hotel doesn't seem to have experience advising on desert tour, the guy they found for us to negociate with gave us very high quotation. So you better do the research yourself in advance. It is easy to get lost but, if you get a good map, you should be okay. The Riad is well signposted. The only real down side is that the rooms are spread over our floors with no lift so if stairs are a problem ask for a room on a lower floor. Nothing at all. Internet service in the room was inadequate. The location could be suitable for someone who wants to be right in the middle of the Medina but for us it was a bit too much. It takes some time to get in and out of the Medina and to learn the maze. Guess it's a personal choice. Next time we will stay outside the Medina. The riad is located on a very hard to find side-street within the already confusing medina of Fes. More signs or better written-out directions would be hugely helpful to guests. Staff members are not always available in the evening to help guide you to and from other locations. So dinner's out can be challenging. Also, worth a note that the staff speaks little English and communication can be an issue. The staff is not entirely good at anticipating guest requests or questions. The Mrs. was a bit worried on our arrival walking through the Medina at night. But the guide from the Riad guided us there safely. Dangers more apparent than real. It's quite hard to find in the maze of Fez. I liked everything... Maybe some new sunbeds would be ok as the terrace is beautiful. Heater cycled on and off every few minutes, adding noise. Difficult to find without a guide, multiple flights of narrow stairs particularly for baggage. No elevator alleyways leading to house. Very difficult to find as it is located at back of the Medina and unfortunatley the taxi driver scammed us and drove us to the front entrance to Medina. The owner supplied us with very limited details of how to find the Riad, which was down a tiny back street. We had no hot water on the first night and no heating. We told the owner but she didnt apologise, just told us ot use the shower in a downstairs bedroom. It would have been more professional if she upgraded us to a better room.
