Our room which was actually a suite was decorated with - It's a beautifully restored set of old houses, the staff are courteous, friendly and helpful, there are special touches like the 4pm cup of tea and kuih (local cake) by the poolside. It rained part of the time we were there but this was a lovely place to just relax and read a book in peace. The Kebaya restaurant was where we had the best meal during our three days, wish it were open for lunch too.   I was very grateful for the excellent English ability of the staff. I was overjoyed with the ease and simplicity of getting a tourist visa for Thailand. Every staff member was very friendly. - The stuff was very helpful and friendly, I would stay there again if I return. The rooms are big and comfortable and I recommend this hotel.

  Very Clean, Good breakfast provided, Helpful staff, Great showers, comfortable bed. As an older couple staying here was slightly out of our comfort zone. Met some great young people who were backpacking. The bus's in and around Georgetown were frequent and inexpensive. And beside the usual toast and jam, they have something hot and fruit. Room was not really big (we had a double), but we fit in. The personnel is very kind and helpful.

  The Dwell is a lovely place to relax and enjoy local life. There are many nearby food choices from famous hawker stands to restaurants of all variety. It's an easy ride on the bus to downtown Georgetown and a nice distance from it's crowds. The staff is excellent. I was delighted to return and hope to do so again. - The staff is very friendly and helpful. At our arrival, the staff handed us city maps with the different locations to see in town and the place to eat the different food specialities from Penang. They have also helped us to rent a motorbike and arranged the pick up from airport. The hotel is located on a very charming street with traditional houses. Hotel room is very clean and well furnished (AC, TV, ...)

  I can not fault the staff at Moon Tree. Upon arrival Dickie ensured that we were given a map of the local area where local hawker places and restaurants were pointed out as well as attractions around Georgetown. He supplied us with a local mobile phone which had his number in it and a taxi number in case we had any questions which i thought was ... vad folk säger » a brilliant touch. The accommodation has a lovely feel to it and i really enjoyed my stay here, Dickie made us feel very welcome. The place itself i - I found moon trees to be an excellent value for money alternative to hotel stays. Owner ,Dickie was extremely helpful and congenial ,as well as making supberb coffee. Guesthouse has a wonderful homely vibe and is in a great location in the heart of the heritage area of George Town. Building is an authentic Chinese shop front and retains its old town appeal with basic fittings and amenities but everything works and is clean and tidy. Would recommend guesthouse to solo travellers or couples.

  I booked for two nights but liked it so much I stayed four! The Hostel inaugurated in Christmas Day, 2012! The building itself was almost 100 years old, nicely remodeled to retain the charm of old family homes, high ceiling and well-located atriums. The hostel has more open areas than bedroom - I had a great time at Muntri House despite a little problem with the overflowing of water coming from the bathroom sewega system. But they were able to fix it. The staff is very friendly and accommodating and the place is ideal for walking around the area, shopping, mall, eating and enjoying native Malaysian and Chinese food delicacies on street especially at night.
