  The room was very large for Japan with a western style bathroom. The Japanese breakfast was lovely and very well presented with a little flaming oven for a local specialty. The western breakfast was quite adequate. The rooftop onsen is new and very well set up.   Staying in Ryokan Murayama was a great experience as we wanted to stay in a more traditional accommodation in a rural setting. The train trip to Takayama was a highlight as it was so picturesque. Our breakfast was beautifully arranged and the service at Murayama Ryokun was exceptional.
