  That is really nice and so cozy hostel in japaneese style, everything is here you need to stay for a couple days. - I liked that it was near the subway; it was clean; staff didn`t speak English, but this was ok.

  Authentic Ryokan accommodation and an ideal base from which to explore beautiful Kyoto. We found the location peaceful and accessible and it was easy and safe. Great to have access to a share kitchen and laundry, and the communal lounge was a welcome space to read and eat in. Lots of friendly advice for travellers and they let us store our luggage... vad folk säger » when we arrived too early. We used the local Fresco store often - really good food. - Every member of the staff knows English and they are always available to help you. One of the few places without curfew. Very good location. Great Japanese breakfast. Good price on bike rental. Very quiet.

  Great value for money. Appreciated the time that the manager took to help plan our visit and to get around, really went above and beyond. Very clean, had what a family needs. Searched a lot of sites for hotels, ryokans for 4 people that didn't break the bank. This had a nice mix of modern and traditional. Such as towels, a variety of dishes, tourism pamphlets, coffee maker, bottles of water, shampoo and condition, dishwasher, washer and dryer! We didn't need to bring anything other than ourselves and our clothes. It was very spacious for 5 people! There was lots of English around to help us use the appliances!

It is a traditional house, so expect tatami floors, futon beds, low table etc. It is the real thing, where many other hotels in ryokan style are more imitations of japanese housing styles.   Absolute everything! We stayed in the Ayanokoji-bashi for our final night in Kyoto and the place was amazing. We turned up to leave our luggage at their office, but they ended up allowing us to check in at 11am. The whole house was really trendy and comfortable. After going for lunch and exploring Gion, we ended up returning and sitting on the cou... vad folk säger » ches, playing jazz records and just watching the leaves fall into the stream outside our window. I would highly recommend it. It was my favourite plac - The house and the "Kura" or old warehouse have been reformed with taste. The surrounding of the house (japanese garden), the wooden (cypres) bath, the whole of the facilities are amazing. You feel at home but in the Japanese style. It is unforgettable. We will go again. Better stay during the week than week-end (price) but it remains ideal to visit Kyoto. We recommend at least 2 nights to really enjoy the house !

  Nice rooms and experiencing of living in a Japanese house. OK and not too bad for budget travelers and backpackers as long as you don't mind sharing bathrooms (take turns) and no locked doors and interconnected rooms. No problems when we arrive but then again we booked the whole house. Feels like a home stay. - Real nice building, nice interieur ... vad folk säger » and generally nice garden.
