  The staff was very nice and kind, but I'm not the kind of costumer that makes requests. The reception were very sofisticated with a very nice design. The room had a great space and the design was lovely too. The kitchenette was really helpful! It has everything you need if you want to prepare your food in your room. They gave us two kind of pillows, one har - Stayed 11 nights in this wonderful city and had read about Citadines Karasuma,indeed,it´s as most people say. Very comfortable and super clean hotel. In one of the most busy avenues of Kyoto but when inside what you really hear is just a slight traffic rumour. The room maids where very good, altough I usually left the towels and kimono hanging they nonetheless changed everyday. The fully equiped kitchenette is a plus for a snack or light meal if you´re to tired to go out. Just outside you have

  A fabulous authentic experience staying in a small traditional family run inn in Kyoto. The owner is lovely - she carefully explained the Japanese etiquette to us (particularly the numerous changes of footwear!), how to eat our various breakfast delicacies and she even dressed me in the gorgeous 2nd hand kimono I picked up at a flea market! The bicycles were a terrific way to get around as the inn is a f - Super friendly landlady organises your stay and speaks very good English, and her helper was very kind and taught me some Japanese. The rooms are basic and simple, but beautiful tatami rooms. This hotel is really a traditional Japanese house with the upper floor given to 5 bedrooms for guests. Shared toilet and nice mineral bath. This is a place for quiet, relaxing time in the traditional manner.

  The receptionist was extremely helpful and caring without being intrusive. All that we thought we needed - it was right there for us. The bathrooms and toilets were really clean and they were always accessible despite being common to all guests. The tatami room smelled wonderful and it was a pleasure sleeping on the hard floor although we are not... vad folk säger » used to it. - What a wonderful place to stay! If somebody wants to feel some Japanese culture I do recommend this ryokan! I would definitely come back here with a pleasure! The staff very helpful and nice.   It's located next to Kyoto station (a perfect location!) and the rooms are not as small as other hotels in Japan. The stall doesn't speak English but They are very nice and funny (They use the translator in the laptop!). The tatami is more confortable than expected. - Very clean and comfy tatami room.   This hotel is a ryokan, or traditional Japanese style inn with tatami floors and futon beds. The location is ideal and very lovely, in the middle of the Gion district, with easy access to many key sites, as well as restaurants and shopping. This excellent ryokan is run by a Japanese family, who are very friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend this hotel. - The location is superb for a taste of real Kyoto. Beautiful streets full of temples around. We were in a two-room (suite) japanese room with bathrooom during Gion Matsuri so that price was high but reasonable. This is a family Ryokan and hence lacks services. The dedication and desire to please of the family that runs the hotel highly compensates. I would certainly like to return.
