  The hotel is well located, very close to the main train station and the Gion district, the beautiful and traditional part of Kyoto. The rooms are really stunning, with a wonderful fusion of traditional and modern Japanese design. The rooms are also very large (especially for Japanese standards) and we felt instantly relaxed upon arrival. The sta... vad folk säger » ff all spoke excellent English and were incredibly welcoming and helpful. The wi-fi was the best we experienced on our Japan trip and even good enoug - The rooms at Kanra are visually beautiful. The design is typically Japanese and the management have put a lot of thought and money into the aesthetics and decor. They make beautiful use of hidden lighting to give the room subtely and sophistication. The size of the room is enormous by any standard, let alone Japanese, and the bed is separated from the tatami mat TV room by a bamboo screen. The bed is so comfortable and the pillows just right.
