  The staff and facilities far exceeded my expectation for a guesthouse. Beds and furniture seemed new and clean. The bathrooms were clean and had excellent water pressure. The staff was friendly and remembered guests by name. I felt a sense of welcome every time I walked the the door. I highly recommend this hotels for backpackers, groups on a budget, or someone visiting Kyoto for a few days - A recommendable guesthouse for bagpackers! It's clean, friendly and easy to move around Kyoto. 1) The location was easy to get along the eastern part of Kyoto - very close to Kyomizudera, quite close to Gion. 2) The staffs there are really friendly and fun to be with. 3) Toilets and Showers are clean. Liked that there were many basins outside the shower booths (door closed) so that many people can enter at a time. 4) Each beds are with curtains and was clean.

  Me and my girlfriend stayed for 2 nights in Kyoto, we wanted to try traditional japanese style room. But when we arrived at Ikoi No Ie it occured to us that it was the best choice apart of that what I mentioned. Spacious kitchen (with free cold drinks, coffee and tea), shared bathrooms and showers (very very clean), nice terrace and many many tips... vad folk säger » from previous visitors. Wheter you planed your visit at Kyoto or not, just look around and you'd probably find something intresting and worth seeing. - A subway station a minute away, also very convenient to the main railway station, (15 min walk or 1 subway station away), in a true old fashioned Kyoto street. Not far to 7/11 & supermarket, we didn't eat out much as 'the right place' was a little more difficult to find (not Japanese speaking). Although the railway station would have sufficed if we had wanted more eating options. We had the top floor of an apartment 30 metres from the hostel & front desk and a couple of hundred metres

  Authentic Ryokan accommodation and an ideal base from which to explore beautiful Kyoto. We found the location peaceful and accessible and it was easy and safe. Great to have access to a share kitchen and laundry, and the communal lounge was a welcome space to read and eat in. Lots of friendly advice for travellers and they let us store our luggage... vad folk säger » when we arrived too early. We used the local Fresco store often - really good food. - Every member of the staff knows English and they are always available to help you. One of the few places without curfew. Very good location. Great Japanese breakfast. Good price on bike rental. Very quiet.

  Japanese style home stay :) clean room and friendly staff. although location is far from city, there is direct JR Bus from Kyoto station to the place. take about 40 mins though. fyi for other traveler as if take JR bus from Kyoto station, alight at Takahanacho stop then walk back about 100m then cross the other side of road. will find easily. staf... vad folk säger » f speak little english and friendly. enjoy my stay :) - Owner and staffs are so friendly. I think he waited for our coming after I confirmed arrival time because while we were walking to find Ryokan and almost getting lost, he called us from in front of Ryokan. I was so impressed. I got a big clean room with garden view and not close to the street so it was quite and peaceful. This room is what I think when stay in ryokan. Love it.
