  Loved the Japanese-style room-very spacious and comfortable and we got a view of Mt. Fuji, also enjoyed the private onsen (with reservation), staff was very friendly and helpful with restaurant suggestions - I stayed in 3 different Ryokans in Lake Kawaguchiko in this trip, the onsen in Oike Hotel is the BEST.   Superior view of shy Mt. Fuji. Friendly and helpful staff. Very large room, especially in Japanese standards. Room had a TV (only japanese stations as far as I have seen), free Wifi, fridge. Hotel has a coin laundry. Some restaurants and supermarket nearby. We are very impressive from accommodation, nice view to see Fuji-San, great dinner, onsen available and very nice service. Even a location is a bit far from station (because we are tourist, don't use a private car) but hotel has a van service, very very very nice! Recommend !!!

  The staff were very friendly and satisfied all our wishes. The dinner and breakfast were incredible value for the price. The baths are nice and you might be lucky enough to spot Mt Fuji through the clouded windows. We stayed at a Japanese style room, a bit basic but quite ok for the price. You can rent bicycles which I would certainly encourage you to do if you stay longer, as going around the lake with the - Great getaway location from the southern part which is crowded and touristy. The owner provides free shuttle to and from kawaguchi-ko station so distant location is not an issue at all. The owner is friendly and is keen to help with any questions should they arise. He's very adept in speaking english too and that helps alot. Each guest (or party of guests) get assigned 45 minutes of private hot bath at no additional cost. The lounge has fireplace that is lit up in the night. Wonderful atmospher

  Not much - History, this hotel has been the same since 1930's where the Emperor of Japan stays there for his honeymoon before he started WWII. But the staffs were very helpful, although there were only 3 staffs to serve the entire hotel of 200 rooms, still they are very helpful.
