Giuseppe and his family (they have their own hotel and restaurant M.A.T.E.S) are the nicest people whose we found in Sicily.

What we read in other comments was definitely true. The appartement was excellent and very clean and the hosts Maurizio and Cettina very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was really great, 5 jellies, fresh bread and Mortadella/prosciutto juices and Sicilian icecream (Granita)! Nicolosi is a cosy village to stay. Close to Etna and Catania. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. We loved the room though a little small--the bathroom was elegant and very comfortable. Breakfast was great with many tasty selections. Overall we had a nice 5 day's stay at the hotel. The Island is still pretty and unspoilt and there are some small rocky beaches. Positive is the friendly staff and serving a good breakfast. Also positive is the location with sea view and a large swimming pool area. -

We were the only quests in this 200 years old villa from lava stones (being partly reconstructed at the time). Only Italian speaking staff Rosetta was so kind and natural taking care of us "like a mother". She even called her friend speaking English to ease our communication.

Located at the top of the hill, surrounded by lime and orange orchards, and olives groves at the downhills, with spectacular view over Ionian see on the left and baroque beauty Rosolini on the right. The owners Maria and Fabrizio are the most wonderful hosts. We had dinner almost every night when we were there. Maria is an amazing cook and everything is made fresh either from her garden or from some farms nearby. Breakfast is a major affair with a wide array of fruits, pastry, cheese, prosciutto and Maria's homemade yogurt. The decor and landscaping is chic and rustic. Definitely one of the major highlights of our trip is staying in this wonderful bed and breakfast.

Very eclectic and modern design, the room was very comfortable with lots of storage space and high end shower and bath soaps. The location is rural and very peaceful, the grounds are beautiful, the breakfast was a delicious mix of local dishes and fresh fruit. The lady in charge was very graceful and helpful. I would describe the Balarte as the Gugenheim in the middle on the Scicilian countryside !

Pretty much everything. Some people may not have liked it's distance from the attractions of Modica but for us that was a plus as it meant we could find parking easily and get around on foot or public transport without the hassles of driving on the roads of hell that is Sicily. -

Small cosy B&B with beautiful design and great comfort. So nice to have a great restaurant in your B&B. Nice people, delicious wines. We liked Favara, the square, the castle, the building project. Plenty of good signs to find the place.
