  The woman who worked the desk was amazing and very helpful. My boyfriend is German and I English and she knew more German than English so it worked out well. Our car wouldn't start and she helped us find a friendly automotive shop who came to us. Plus, we had a garge space so it was perfect! The room had a big balcony and a big kitchen.   Very pleasant and helpful staff in this very modern hotel. Rooms are well appointed if a little starkly white and black in decor. Lovely breakfast served until 11.00 which was welcome as we had had a tiring journey. Excellent location next to train station, and close to the beach and port for boats to Portofino. Great staff that helped with our plans for exploring Cinque Terre. il Nostromo is a great restaurant in the street infront of the hotel (Tuna Tartar for appetizer, Pistachio crusted fish for main course and Tiramisu for dessert - Best meal of the trip).

The modern design in an old building was very creative. Owner Patrize was there to answer questions and make good recommendations for touring and eating out. Great market across the street. We stayed for 3 nights and used it as a base for touring Cinque Terre and Portoverne. Enjoyed time in evenings walking around LaSpezia.

The town offers a decent selection of restaurants as well as shopping. Hotel De Paris is situation next to the Casino at the "entrance" to the old town and shopping district.Beachside and habour are a 10-15 walk away.

  The hotel is perfectly placed on the water- I highly recommend the sea view rooms. The walk from the train station wasn't bad at all, and we had no trouble finding the hotel. We had to leave one day earlier than we have booked and this was no problem, the manager was extremely kind. We should not pay for the day we had booked, but did not use.
