Generator was a great place to stay in Venice. Even though it is on Giudecca, there is a vaporetto stop near the hostel and getting to St. Mark's Square is quick and easy. They helped me to charge my phone when my cable got broken.
Very comfortable beds with lights that don't disturb others. Quite cheap, good breakfast for additional price.
It was a half-populated 16 person dorm, but it was comfortable to stay there.
It is on a separate island from the city center, but public transport is working all the night so it's not a problem.

The location is perfect. The staff, especially main guy (goatee guy), were v. helpful and friendly. They arranged our gondola ride and answered our questions fully. I like the location - it's less than 10 mins walk from the train station. It's also surrounded by good restaurants (incidentally, a very good one just next to the hotel).
The room was clean and had an attached bathroom. The aircon was working nicely - no weird smells.

The place is easy to find and easy to go to everywhere.
The single room is big enough for one person and is clean. They make it clean everyday.
Even though it is shared bathroom I found it not very busily used so I don't have to wait for long. But you need bring your own shampoo and showering gel.

It's nice that it is close to st mark's square. Breakfast was good. Josie in the breakfast room was very nice and attentive to our needs. The front desk clerks were very helpful. Rooms were clean. I will stay here again.
