  What did I not like!!! This boutique hotel was amazing. I am definitely much more accustomed to the big fancy American chains (Marriott, Hilton etc.) but this place was perfect. Our room was incredibly large for European standards with a table and chairs and a sofa which was used and an extremely comfortable 3rd bed. The ter - Residenza Torre Colonna was incredible - the facility itself is totally unique, the location is terrific, and the people are all wonderful! We could not have imagined a better experience. After we had checked out and discovered we had a flat tire on our car, we had difficultly communicating (on a Saturday afternoon) with anyone who could help us.   Gianluca was the perfect host and went out of his way to take care of our every need. We were three sisters who had never been to Rome and had no idea what to expect. All of Gianluca's recommendations on sightseeing and restaurants were spot on. Rooms were comfortable and modern, while the building had the "newer" old world - Gianluca is the perfect host. Metro VERY close to use for Vatican,Colosseum,etc. Had family room for 4 - seperate bed and a couch for 10 and 13 year-old kids, heavy curtain between kids' beds and adult bed, 2 balcony doors to view of St. Peter's, quiet and blinds/curtains for darkening. We were contacted in advance and offered various options for a transfer to the hotel from the airport, and chose a private driver who was there and waiting for us.
