  We loved this hotel. It was excellent value for money. The room was spacious, the bathroom was big and clean and we had a balcony with a great view. The centre is a 20 minute walk away, but the walk down the river (past a number of good cafe's etc) is worth the effort.   There are many 5 stars hotels in Florence. Il Salviatino is definitly the most special of them all. It's comfort, beauty, luxury, perfect location, and hospitality goes beyond any other experience. Do yourself and your compagnions a favour, go nowhere else but to Il Salviatino if you are in Florence - The hotel is a delight and our garden room was more than we had expected. The hotel staff were simply magnificent and were always looking to help us with, for example, directions for days out of Florence, booking train tickets to Rome and restaurant reservations. The service in the restaurant was excellent and the serving of drinks and aperitivo in the library was a nice touch..

  The staff was fantastic and so very helpful in recommending restaurants and making reservations for us. I would highly recommend the day exceurion to Sienna- it was probably my favorite day in Italy! Also, if you can make the climb up the steps at the Domo it is well worth the view.   We arrived by car so we were looking for somthing close to the city, butnot in it. The hotel was very convenient to the highway, but stillquiet, and did not charge for parking.
