I had a small single room which was simple but very clean. Loved the air conditioning. It's super close to the main town square and university quarter. A great value for the price. The staff person spoke English and was very helpful. She also made a fantastic machiato!. It was a pleasure enjoy our journey at Castello especially for the lovely people that manage the b&b. Wonderful position (just two minutes from Piazza maggiore) and very cheap. I hope see you again!!!.

The girl on reception/breakfast/garage etc was very helpful and went out of her way to please. Clean, good location, nice staff. Would recommend. location. very clean. good price. Possibilty to use garage 15 euro a night. Note foreigners do not need a special pass to enter the carfree Center of Bologna. It just in the middle of Bologna. We had a good deal for 70 euro a night. It is in the city center in a quiet street. Excellent location and friendly staff. Location, location and location!. The first night the air conditioner didn't work, I assumed it was broken but they fixed it without my asking. breakfast is rather poor, only one toast and a coffee. the staff was friendly, but did not know much about the city! the girl could not recommend us anything to do or see around. The wall between rooms must have been paper thin as we could hear every little noise from the next room - almost as if they were in our room having a conversation with us. Walls slightly too thin so the noise is heard from one room to another. hard to find the bell level of noise from neighbors even if they are whispering. The breakfast is real Italian abit poor for a hungry Dutchman like me.. A bit small room toilet and shower facilities are shared. I had to pay 10 euros more to enter in the hostel because I arrived at 9 P.M. and it was out recepcion time. When I arrived there were no indications of the hostel in the street and I had to telephone them to let me open the door. There was no hot water in the shower on the second night. There was 1 shower between many rooms. The staff was quite dry and they could smile a bit. Breakfast was quite limited and they awoke me up at 6.30am because of the noise of doors closing/opening! The walls are paper-thin, you can hear everything! The kitchen could not be used by guests which was rather annoying. The placed lacked of personality, rather cold environment. The shower got blocked (with hair or dirtiness) so you would end up while having the shower with piping dirt on your feet!!.
