The owner Terry very friendly, engaged with guests. Restaurant very child friendly & relaxed - food 5 star standard - great fish dishes. Great choice of food, very good value with early bird menu. Fantastic deserts made in-house Terry and his team willing to alter the dishes to cater to children's requirements. Kids loved the stay, Skerries beautiful area, quiet nice for families. It was a good base for travelling around the area, including Newgrange, Funtasia.
alla recensioner The Redbank Guesthouse is well situated in Skerries. Five minutes from the port and seafront and close to a good pub with music. The welcome was very friendly and the food, both in the restaurant and at breakfast, was very good. The decoration needs a touch of TLC but we found that a lot during our trip to other guesthouses. It is a lovely place to spend the evening and night before flying out from Dublin airport - a twenty minutre drive (with roadworks)?. The location is very nice in that you can have a variety of shops, street cafes, restaurants and so close to the beach. The Redbank Restaurant has food to delight most palates prepared by an excellent chef who also doubles as a comedian as he speaks with everyone to be sure the food pleased them. Everyone we met in the village treated you like an 'old friend'. The location was good not far from the harbour and the town centre. The restaurant that is attached to the guest house was first class and the staffs attention to details was excellent. Breakfast was included and there was a good range of options to choose from and to top it off was very reasonably priced and they let us bring our dog. The dinner we had at The Redbank Restaurant was a gourmet feast that was the best dinner we had in our two-week travels in Europe. Not to be missed. Staying at the charming coastal village of Skerries and taking the commuter train into the city (30 minute ride) was a great way to visit Dublin. It was a very brief visit - just overnight, so only had bed and breakfast. I was attending a funeral, so it was a great comfort to be staying in such a lovely place. Unpretentious but with lots of class. Would love to visit again under happier circumstances and try out the evening meal menu. Had a most enjoyable stay here with my daughter. Everything was perfect for us, rooms very cosy and warm, especially as weather was terrible. Had a gorgeous meal in the restaurant and equally good breakfast next morning. This was our second visit and we will definately be returning. This may appear to be out of the way if you are touring but if you are tired of Irish pub grub and looking for a gourmet restaurant that also offers accomodation this is well worth the half hour drive north of Dublin . Good accomodation with a sumptuous restaurant . You cannot fault the staff here. Extremely accommodating. We were very well looked after. The hour changed and we were very late for breakfast - not a word from the on duty manager other than yes of course you can still eat! Keep it up!. Very good value for money. Good location, it was good to have the public parking right outside so not too much hastle when paying the meter. The rooms were very comfortable. Breakfast was cooked to order and very very nice. Very cosy place to stay and the staff and owner are warm and inviting. Excellent for a one or two night break and the restaurant is excellent. This is our third visit and the food gets better each time!. we like the location, Skerries is a lovely town with nice places to eat and drink. There are also some nice walks by the sea.Redbank House is very comfortable with friendly staff and a lovely breakfast. The Hotel was comfortable. The meals were fantastic. Mr. Mc Coy is a perfectionist and his food is without a doubt perfect in every way. Elaina's breakfast kept the good times rolling. From the welcome to leaving a breakfast selection out for us when we were leaving at 5am, the staff was very nice, the accommodations were clean and welcoming. It was lovely. Very convenient to Dublin airport, better than staying at the airport. Breakfast was fantastic and the restaurant outstanding. Staff very friendly and helpful for sightseeing. Redbank is a beautifully kept guesthouse, very welcoming, warm and comfortable with the most amazing full Irish breakfast. We will definitely be coming back. loved the location of the redbank. the staff are very friendly, the food is amazing. rooms are quite spacious and have everything you might need. Very helpful staff lovely big bedroom we stayed in room 6 which was at the back of the house very quiet except for the sea gulls in the morning. The situation of the Restaurant and the friendliness of the staff. We had an enjoyable meal in the Restaurant which we considered good value. The breakfast was good and the young lady was very nice. The town seemed very nice and the guesthouse was close to the water, I believe. Fourth time staying here. Love the old fashioned feel to this place, it's quiet, private and very cosy. Will return again and again. Loved the fact they got up at 1am to let us in as our flight had been delayed for 7 hours...all done with lovely irish grace!!. Terry and his son were very good hosts , the food was lovely and terry was very entertaining thank you for our stay. staff was excellent breakfast was very good rooms were very comfortable appreciated the pants press in our room. breakfast, girls seving breakfast very friendly and lovely and the breakfast is cooked fresh and is very good. The food was excellent, and the room was very comfortable. The staff were very helpful and pleasant. Small village at 32 km from Dublin, easy accesible by train. Quite location at the seaside. It was quiet. Coming and going was very easy. Staff were very friendly and helpful. the room , the location , the staff it was lovely all of it was wonderful. Excellent Guest House with high quality restaurant. Highly recommended. Incredible value for money, food was heavenly. Simply a delight. Food excellent staff very courteous very relaxed atmosphere. The owner was there and greeted me with a warm welcome. very central staff very friendly breakfast fantastic. Great place, lovely room, fantastic food!. quiet, clean room near all local areas. Breakfast, Rooms, Location and Services. Location, nice boutique feel. room very comfortable. Fabulous breakfast. breakfast. It was in a good location for the shops also short walk to harbour and promenade which is lovely. Breakfast was lovely and plenty of it, and good service. We had a good sized room with a view onto the back patio area. The irish breakfast was really lovely and you also get a choice. Location is great not to far from the sea. Excellent Breakfast. Nice location, good breakfast, friendly staff. The staff was friendly and the room was clean. Friendly atmosphere. Close to the sea and at this time of year fairly cheap, breakfast. The bathroom in the bedroom which had disabled facilities(I am wheelchair bound) was just too small to easily manoeuvre the wheelchair. The room we were in looked a bit tired could have done with being freshened up having said that we had a dog with us so may be a room the use for pet owners. Having said that it was very clean and have no complaints would definately stay there again. Only that wi-fi was a bit marginal in our room (no problems in the lobby). The restaurant was very very quiet, missed atmosphere, might be good to liven it up to encourage local people to use it. We stayed Friday night and were very surprised it was so quiet. Bed linen and bedding needs to be improved. Duvet is very heavy and filled with polyester fibre, would recommend microfiber duvets and a finer bed linen in 100% cotton. no dislikes. Could not stay longer. Only one small thing, the bath could have done with having a bath mat to avoid slipping. generally food and drink is pricey in Ireland and the redbank is no different. we got a good deal booking online so it didnt work out too bad for us. Asked for fresh fruit salad @ breakfast when it arrived it was 90% tinned fruit cocktail. We were promised a free bottle of water and toiletries in the bath and did not receive either. We didn't like the fact that the door to both guest house and restaurant were both locked and you had to ring the buzzer for entry. We were parked in when we had to street side park and could not get into the back doors due to someone parking crooked. It was very noisy with someone stomping down the hall about 4 am. not many television channels shower head leaked quite a bit in room 17 and affected water pressure not many toiletries available, only shower/shampoo gel, would prefer to have had separate products. variety of fruit at breakfast. only petit filou yoghurt, wud have liked some more yoghurt. no water , juices were a bit limited also.just the parking. The village offers few options for leasure besides quietness and location close to the sea. Bedroom 3 was claustrophobic. Furniture too big and cumbersome for the size of the room. last check in 9pm. Internet was weak and only worked in the lounge. bathroom needs attention especially the towels bit of a let down they were very worn. It was exceptionally warm in the bedrooms.!. Needs painted badly. Bed was uncomfortable. no car park. curt check in. Our room was a bit dated and the bathroom definitely needs refurbishing. I don't think 'power shower' are words I would use to describe the shower. The man on reception wasn't very friendly, it would help if he spoke to the guests a little more. The back patio could do with being tidied up a bit. It seems a shame because it looked like a really lovely space for people to sit out. Good idea to have it as a smoking area. Room are old style and toiletery was worn. Very noisy as peoples come and chat in the corridor and you hear all, specially when they are coming back to the B&B drunk late night and are very noisy. You also hear TV from other room. I was very disappointed and could not sleep for 3 hours as there was a party going on and nobody to call to fix this situation. Bed was not great, could not get wifi. The accommodation was very basic. Although the advertisement said there was a resruarant this was not open on the night I stayed and I was not offered advice on where to eat in the area. The rooms are getting worn out. It wouldn't take much to paint the walls in the same colour and to plaster those holes and cracks. This is what people look at. Room and bathroom poorly cleaned and decoration broken in the bath.
