  I can't recall staying in a better city centre hotel than this and all at a very reasonable price. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable and nothing was too much trouble for them. The conversion from a venerable old residence to a modern comfortable hotel has been carried out with style and panache.   Location is good: subway station, tram station in front of the hotel. Currency exchange office at the corner. A lot of restaurants nearby. 3 mins to New York cafe on foot. 12 mins to shopping streets and Donau. The room we got was a bit small but clean and good equipped. Very good breakfast.   I loved everything about the Opera Gardens Hotel. When I approached the front door it opened automatically and as I turned toward the front desk, this charming, helpful, and professional young man came out from an office door to great me. Sangria each evening in the hotel lobby for you to grab a glass on your way back up to your room. Rooms were lovely and spacious.
