  The beach really is just across the road, and the sandy beach was wonderful. The local restaurants were touristy and uninspiring, but we found some excellent restaurants in the old town, which is about 20 minutes' walk from the hotel.   We received a very warm Cretan welcome from Kiria Chryssa and her daughter Galia who spoke excellent English. The room was very spacious and spotlessly clean, fresh towels and cleaning were provided every other day and we had fresh sheets in the middle of our stay.   Elena, one of the owners, was warm and welcoming. She made our stay very enjoyable. We had a lovely big deck to relax on after sightseeing. The location was convenient and on a quiet street. - Our hosts were very friendly and generous.
