  Maria and Franz were wonderful hosts. We stayed in the smaller apartment and it was immaculate. Everything was brand new and the design was very tasteful. The bathroom and kitchen were sparkling clean and very modern. The location is excellent, very close to the river and walking distance to a playground, bakery and bike rental.   I would rate this a 10. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent and the rooms were immaculate and priced well. Would sta there again and highly recommend this hotal. - The most surprising was the excellent food The dinner was excellent andthe breakfast was very frech and containing a great deal.

  Comfortable and clean rooms. Very good breakfast, Frau Derkum's wine is superb. She is an excellent host and good company. Urzig is well placed for visits to Trier, Bernkastel and Cochem without paying the inflated prices in those places. Lovely but hilly local walks in the vineyards, great views over the Mosel. The little town is so beautiful and typical of rustic Mosel valley I walked the town in minutes filming every minute of it (javadoug on flickr). I bought a bottle of their locally made wine - very good - get the dry. The hotel is rustic on the outside and very modern on the inside, a nice mix.
