Our primary reason to stay there was to visit some of the many places where Luther and Bach have lived and worked - but the city and the area are great even if you don't share this interest.   One of the finest hotels we've ever stayed at. The old town location is perfect, a short walk to all the sites. Free on-site parking. Immaculate room, everything was brand new and clean. The grounds are beautifully done, with a fountain in the courtyard and access to the river with a bench where you can sit and relax. A nice buffet selection with eggs, bacon, bread, cheese, sweet breads, etc. The staff were welcoming and profess - Driving in Erfurt is a bit of a challenge but once at the hotel you can walk everywhere in the old city. Free parking,internet access was nice. We had a large double room and it was a a nice size, clean and quite. Had breakfast one day, good but it was an extra charge. Apartment is also very close to a large number of good places to eat.
