Loved everything about this place! We arrived late at night in very rainy weather. Our hostess was ready to welcome us and so very gracious. We had hoped to eat something on the way and it did not work out. We were hungry, wet, cold and tired. We had a little bread and cheese and a bottle of wine with us. We asked to borrow a corkscrew and our hosts responded by setting a lovely table for us in the dining area. They turned our makeshift picnic into a classy meal, even providing a complementary . alla recensioner »
The room was beautiful and very spacious. The chateau has also been restored, but in a very tasteful way that felt both authentic and comfortable without being too modern. The family who runs the chateau was so helpful and very friendly. There were several other groups of travelers around for breakfast and there was good conversation between the owners, the others and ourselves. A little French is helpful, but their daughter speaks fantastic English and both the husband and wife did very well w.
Privately owned chateau in the perfect sea-side town. Lovely owner, very friendly and accomodating. Family rooms were huge - two separate bedrooms and a large bathroom separated by private hallway - perfect for our family of 4! View of ocean from one of the bedrooms - lovely breakfast in the morning - beautiful grounds and interior. This was our first night in France and it was the perfect way to start off our European vacation.
If you want to experience a gen-u-ine chateau experience at a reasonable cost, this is it. The suite we had was excellent, with plenty of space, and a modern bathroom with every amenity. For Canadians, the Juno beach interpretative center is within a 20 minute walk, or short drive. And don't forget the Canadian cemetery at Beny-sur-mer; a moving experience not to be missed. Overall, a good experience.
This was a phenomenal stay and absolutely wonderful. The Chateau is so quaint and magnificently decorated inside. You almost feel like you are being transported back in time yet with today's modern amenities. Very well maintained and clean. The owners were so friendly and the personalized breakfast was delicious and relaxing. We highly recommend this hotel.
We loved everything about the Chateau Francois D'O! It was a wonderful experience. The hosts were fabulous. The facility was exceptionally well decorated and very clean. Super location just a five minute walk to Juno Beach and the centre of Courseulles Sur Mer. Absolutely loved it!.
Anna and her husband are great hosts. Their "chateau" is amazing! The suite we had was huge with an excellent bathroom and a king size bed. The rooms were very clean. I would highly recommend this castle.
Fantastic location. The chateau was beautiful. Very convenient for restaurants and visiting locations such as bayeaux and pegasus bridge . Great value would stay there again.
Lovely chateau & gracious owner who mailed left eyeglasses to
Paris for us.
Spacious & well decorated room and bathroom.
Owner courteous and welcoming, a lovely castle, spacious room, luxurious, historical place, good breakfast, a little expensive.
Beautiful peaceful setting, good location, close to Juno Beach Centre, friendly staff, great breakfast, historic building.
The room was spectacular, with four poster bed, freestanding bath and lovely view. Miriam, the manager was great.
This is a superb old chateau that is a joy to come home to after a long day at the WWII sites .
The room was pretty clean.
Really nice to have a night on this castle.
A wonderful place to go and spoil yourself for a night or two.
Very friendly hosts in a stunning setting. A delight!.
Very charming. Value for money, great breakfast.
Large amount of room and the view and location.
Large rooms and bathrooms. Building has a lot of history and nice grounds.
The wifi wasn't accessible on the 2nd floor, but it is very strong in the salon/breakfast room and it was sort of nice to have to unplug in our bedroom areas. Other than that, everything was fantastic.
Note that breakfast is not included in the room price, and costs 9 Euro per person per day; a bit much for the selection and quantity given comparatives during a two week trip across France. Nothing about the additional cost is mentioned in letsbookhotel.com to this effect, and light eaters might want to eat at the brasserie across the street.
The only thing we didn't like was that we wished we could have stayed for a few more days to relax and enjoy the hotel and surroundings.
Nothing!.
nothing.
Just needed a few extra touches to reach perfection such as little bottles of bath oil and water in fridge.
Rooms had baths not showers. Limited availability of wifi.
Nothing.
No lift. Need better lighting outside.
Whilst there was facilities t make tea or coffee downstairs there wasn't any cups for the tea..
Unexpected breakfast charge of €10/person/day. Assumed that was included given the price of the hotel and that it essentially represents tea, bread & jams.
Town itself is a bit dull.
