Located by the National Theatre building in the city centre, Wine Garden Split Hostel offers air-conditioned rooms and dormitories with free Wi-Fi. It is just 100 metres from the Diocletian's Palace.
The hostel includes 2 common terraces. The wine bar has a terrace in the yard, it is partly shaded and breakfast is served there. The other terrace is upstairs.
A restaurant is next door to the Wine Garden Hostel, while a bakery and grocery shop are within a 20-metre radius. You can find a small shopping centre at the beginning of Marmontova Street, 50 metres away.
Front desk can arrange a rickshaw ride at a surcharge.
Ferry port and the main train and bus stations are about 1 km from the property. Bačvice Beach and its vibrant night clubs are 1.5 km away.
Poljud Stadium and the beginning of the Marjan Park Forest are within a 1 km radius from the hostel. Airport transfers can be organised upon request.

Ines is willing to help with anything you may need, and will ensure you have a great stay at Wine Garden.
Also, because the hostel is quite small, we found that we made good friends with almost everyone who was staying at the hostel. In fact, the majority of the people in the hostel extended their stay because we were having such a good time.

Very friendly staff and helpful. Good location. Hostel is exciting at night as it serves as a wine garden at night attracting customers and signers perform.

Position because hostel is very close to all the amenities in Spalato, very nice yard placed at the main entrance,staff very kind and the big size double bed in room.
Staff is nice, they give you tips of where to eat, to go and maps. I booked it twice, the first apartment was much much better than the second one. I genuinely can't say anything bad about this hostel, other than it might have been nice to have a kitchenette so we could reduce eating costs. However, there is a large, communal fridge, so cheaerp eating is still possible.
On my reservation, it said I could pay by card and free breakfast. However, once I arrived, I was told initially I could not pay by card. As for the breakfast, it seemed this was only done for me, and sometimes the main staff woman (Ines, very very friendly!) would be gone for long periods at a time so I had to wait around for the food. Shower rooms messy (but this might be the other travelers' doing).
I missed a kitchen (now only fridgerator) and at least some plates etc. Shower in out room didn´t work properly.
The hostel was under renovations while we were there, which sort of got in the way.
We couldn't have breakfast because is provided quite early,from 9:30 and we had to leave before 9.
In the room there weren't any windows but a kind of "air system" that was very noisy and people out of room were shouting after 11 p.m even if the statement of hostel says that sleeping hours are from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m.
As Split is a mix of people's houses renting as apartments/studios, everytime you book something is a mistery. You can end up in a place much better than you ordered (what happened to me) or end up in a worst place. First time I booked the hotel it was great. I stayed in a much better place. I booked the same room, but the second time I got a regular place. What I don't like is this uncertainty...
