Juan was really friendly and was full of advice about what to do in the area - he speaks perfect English and Hebrew. The communal kitchen was enormous, with two double sinks, two 6ft fridge/freezers and at least 10+ saucepans. Everything we needed was there and everything was clean. There were also clean/new sponges for washing up (a highlight after staying in a lot of hostels in south america!!). The beds were really comfortable, the shower was powerful and hot and the radiator kept the room.
alla recensioner » After months of travelling this place felt like coming home. Juan is a super helpful and friendly host. The hostal is a perfect starting base for a Torres del Paine trek. Juan offers his expertise and professional equipment at reasonable prices. The bus to the park even leaves from the front door. This hostal has a perfect price-quality ratio.The hot shower and stove are ideal to relax after the trek. Do not expect luxury, but the hostel facilities and rooms are quite nice. The owner is super friendly and helpful. We arranged with him all the necessary gear to prepare our trekking in Torres del Paine. He also provides you with some great advice and transport arrangements to the Torres del Paine National Park. There are luggage lockers were you can keep your stuff while trekking. Good value twin rooms with private bathroom. Set up for torres del paine trekkers, big drying room and knowledgable staff. Associated with a bus company, pick ups from door to tdp and el calafate(maybe others, didnt ask) no pressure to buy. Situated in quiet residential area,10 minute walk to town..Perfect place for a few days rest after trek... * Clean room with private bathroom * Lockers for keeping your things during camping at Torres del Paine * Transport to Torres del Paine leaves from the hotel * Fast Wi-Fi and computer available for guests * Small breakfast included even when room was advertised without Breakfast * Juan was a great host. Juan is super helpful and friendly. The tour he introduced to P. N. Paine is perfect. The facilities there are not in high class but good enough for what I need: private room, double bed, heat, kitchen...and at a very competitive price!. Juan, the owner, is amazing. To mirror previous comments he really does not seem like he is just there to take your money. Certainly the most helpful owner we have come across in our travels. Very reasonably priced with a well equipped kitchen and big lounge area. Cheap rentals for gear which we availed of for Torres del Paine. Very simple room but it is a really nice and friendly place to stay. Criativity of the administration. There wasn't a curtain on the window, but not a massive problem - we put a towel up and there were net curtains. The walls were quite thin, but we had someone in the room next to us and had no problems. Thin walls between rooms but if you arent travelling with ear plugs in south america you havent been here long enough!. Shower was leaking a bit. A bit far away from the bus terminal and the town centre, but it's just a 20- / 15-minutes walk. Thought it was closer to the bus station than it was - walk took about 20mins. However this was no issue on the way back as Juan kindly gave us a lift, even stopping on the way for us to get money changed!. It was quite cold for two of the three nights we stayed there.
