Lovely pousada in a great location. Felt like we were staying at a friends home. Very large and comfortable room, comfortable bed, great breakfast with friendly service. The owner is very warm and helpful. Paraty is very interesting and atmospheric. Would highly recommend staying at this wonderful

The staff was incredibly helpful, setting up a waterfall tour for us on the spot. They were also able to check us in early and allowed a late checkout, which was fantastic for our rather hectic travel schedule. Excellent location and beautiful rooms and establishment. Wonderful people at the desk and a charming city. The room was small, but very clean and modern. It was central to everything and a short walk to the boats for day trips to the islands and swimming. I would highly recommend the Pousada Do Ouro.

The backside of the pousada touches a small river, which gives a real nice relaxed place to have breakfast, read a book, etc.

Our pousada (or guest house) was beautiful. At first we were a bit worried as the cab dropped us off down this dark street that looked a bit scary -- but then when we open the door to the pousada it was an amazing oasis of lush vegetation, orchids, squirrel monkeys and humming birds. It was almost like a small village with lots of buildings for breakfast, TV rooms, pool and sitting areas. The owners had a wonderful collection of paintings, sculptures and lots of folk art.
