This hotel is extremely good value. It is, like many building of its age, a bit 'tired' but this in no way detracted from our stay. It was clean. Tea and coffee making facilities provided. A telly, microwave and aircon made the stay easy. I would recommend anyone wanting affordable accommodation with easy access to the city centre. This hotel was very convenient to Chatswood shopping complex ant public transport facilities. The interior of the hotel was delightfully charming, as were the staff. Just so much nicer than hotels which provide minimalist décor and sleek service.. Would enjoy to stay there again and would recommend to others.
alla recensioner » I have stayed at the charrington on about 8 occasions now. It is familiar, and I know the staff, how it works; what to expect. At night there is no "city" noise, yet it is close to an area of dense, busy population. I loved the way the rooms are decorated, the decore in the hotel is luxurious, tasteful and comfortable. I will be staying with you again, for sure. The staff are friendly and helpful, and very genuine. The location of Charrington Hotel is highly recommendable. It is five minutes away from multiple big shopping centers and good restaurants in Chatswood. loved the victoriana look. helpful staff. good facilities eg laundry and kitchen if wanted. handy to shops and restaurants and train. Close to Chatswood Business district, easy access to the Hotel , comfortable and quiet. Pleasant atmosphere, attractive building not too far from the rail station. Comfortable, clean and friendly. No frills but value for money. Not too much The only positive thing is that is 15 minutes walking distance from railway station to Sydney (40 minutes travel..). There was nothing that we found negative. I hope the hotel could provide more cleaning services instead once for every two nights. Some galah pounding on the outside door in the middle of the night. Tiny bathroom sink. I did not like the leaking shower head on my last night there. It dripped all night. They could have had face washers in the bathroom and it did smell abit of sewerage near the toilet. Spiderwebs in bathroom window needed removal - been there a really long time. Also under bathroom sink in cupboard there looked like evidence of mould. No onsite parking. Nothing. The hotel needs a renovation as you can tell some facilities are very old, drawers etc are falling apart. nothing. could have had better glasses for wine and beer. Nothing. you need to upgrade you linen especially the pillow cases looking tired and not cotton,,,,yellow frilly things not nice. The drainage in the toilet was overflowing. 1 only pillow per person, but then I could have asked for another one. To lock the outside window on the balcony you had to take off the flyscreen inside. Room was small and old and tired. Vanity rotten. Very noisy bathroom fan. Fridge leaked during the night. Got wet feet treading in it. Dirty fridge. I booked a standard room which which was faded and old fashioned and definitely needed updating. Bathroom original victorian. Bathroom wasn't up to mark. didn't feel like using it at all. Microwave wasn't clean and curtains has dirt. Not clean. Too expensive for what you get. A very small room, not very clean, foul smell. Short bed, small bathroom sink & taps, no bath taps, and overall dump smell. Very dirty. Was very surprised that the room did not even appear to be cleaned except for new sheets on the bed. Bathroom and bed were not cleaned well. A lot: they call it "Boutique" but is only an old house, far away from airport and central Sydney, with not working in the room wi- fi, with a so called airport shuttle which in fact is a private non- authorized (expansive) taxi.
