  I liked that they let me leave my luggage in the hotel before check in because i was going to soundwave. The breakfast was delicious and excellent value for money. I lived how it was right next to the station. I would've gone and had a drink at the pub/nightclub, but was knackered from soundwave. - Staff very accommodating and helpful; room clean... vad folk säger » ers/service very friendly and cheerful; plenty toilets and showers at each floor and just around the corner to the biggest mall.   Cleanest and most modern hostel I've ever stayed in. The place has clearly been renovated/upgraded recently and it's lovely. I was really impressed. The room ac had heat and cool, which is apparently rare in Australia where most ac usually only cools a room. The room was large, very clean, the shared bathroom down the hall, which is usually the wo... vad folk säger » rst part of any hostel, was spotless. The restaurant was very well priced (eating out is always expensive in Oz) and the food was very good. - The service from Peter the manager was excellent. When we arrived there, my girlfriend was ill, he made a couple of phonecalls to doctors free of charge. When we got back at the hostel, he saw that my girlfriend was still not feeling better, so he upgraded our double room to a better room away from all the noise from the reception. Thanks a lot for this excellent service Peter and the rest of the staff!

  My room is 306, the room is clean, tidy and pretty quiet too. I like it very much! The reception ladies are friendly and helpful. But only one person to serve in the evening time seems under pressure.   The kitchen is big and well equipted. The room is clean and the security is awesome, there are security camera everywhere in public area. There is a wifi room you can use wifi which is great.   Great place. If you're looking for somewhere to party & have a laugh then this is the place. Stayed in a four bed room with an ensuite shower & toilet which were cleaned everyday. Staff were friendly & helpful along with the tour desk. The club though is brilliant!! Large & loud & does $10 meal/drink deal which was a life save... vad folk säger » r. Would stay here again whenever in Cairns. - Stayed from 19.2.13 - 26.2.13 in room 417 and had an awesome stay. I went with 3 people from work in Brisbane as a get away. We hardly ended up leaving at all because everything was there. I'll be booking again soon. Very hard to fault! Thanks to all the Gilligan's team.

  the air con on every room (very usefull in Cairns as the heat is very humid), great staff, free airport shuttle, bed confortable, and very cheap ! - They went out of their way to make my stay relaxing and comfortable. Highly recommended

  We've stayed here for few times. Very friendly and nice personal, clean shared bathrooms, good facilities and the location is very-very handy. Just a few minutes walk to the beach, even less to do grocery shopping at Coles, which is across the road. - I enjoyed meeting people from other countries everyone was friendly, and its a great place to go... vad folk säger » when ur traveling!   This hostel was fantastic, couldn't fault the place or the staff! Gutted I had to lead but be back very soon!! Very friendly staff and management, travelling on my own and made to feel very welcome and included! Facilities excellent, loved the make shift kitchen while it was being renovated!!   Everything is close. The backpacker is more like a villa. Stayed in a double room, was very good and spacious. There's a calm bar inside. Left my bag there after check out without problem. - The hostel was very clean and spacious. We were on an 8 bed dorm and it was fantastic with great facilities.   Amazing place, really liked it there. Not in the town center (but only 5-10 minutes walk there) so it's quiet at night. Really friendly staff.
