  The apartment was very big! We had lots of space.It felt like home. We loved having a separate laundry room in our apartment. The kitchen was great.I really wanted to cook and it had everything I needed. The swimming pool is very long - perfect for lap swimming. It is also super for kids. The beds were very comfortable.   I loved the late check-out, (12 noon) - all hotels should adopt this practice of letting you leave a little later. It certainly allayed a lot of stress and if you check-in late, you feel like you got what you paid for. I also like the fact there was a coffee machine in your room and the toiletries were delightful. The staff are very competent and friendly .The rooms are very well appointed and stylish.The bar and restaurant are very good and have a great atmosphere .And the location is excellent. It is an excellent hotel.

  The incredible atrium forms the centrepiece of this remarkable hotel and for us provided a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. We were made most welcome by the courteous and attentive staff and overall our stay was extremely pleasant. We had breakfast in the Café which presented a good choice of quality food.   Reception staff - very friendly at each encounter. I was welcomed with unsolicited suggestions and free maps - very nice touch you would normally only see in a small country town. I am not that fussy but . . . I find dry irons in hotel rooms very frustratingly ineffective and a statement of mistrust. Cap Exec provided a steam iron and it was a v... vad folk säger » ery effective one (took a pic; will buy one). Breakfast buffet was very, very reasonably priced - didn't feel any urge to over-eat just to get my mone - My wife fell and broke her arm 3 hours after we arrived; I was diagnosed with DVT 3 days later. We had to extend our stay by 3 days as doctopr would not allow me to drive home. Staff was very helpful indeed in finding another room for us for 3 days even though the hotel was heavily booked. Could not speak more highly of the staff. Also good to be able to have dinner brought to our room.

  This property is well priced, and quiet, and only about 10 minutes from the northern end of Canberra. The rooms are comfortable and relatively clean, and the staff are friendly and helpful. We were there when a school group was also staying there, but because of the size of the resort, we didn't hear a peep out of them all night long.   I had a note on my file that I liked the apartment that we stayed in last time and would prefer it for future bookings. I was kindly rang by a staff member to let me know that room was not available as it was a two bedroom apartment I had booked a one bedroom apartment. We were very happy with the apartment and we will be returning in about 3 weeks for another stay in C - The apartment was clean, spacious and the view was spectacular! We were so close to all the places we wanted to visit Parliment House, The War Memorial and Shopping in the City. The Staff were very friendly and helpful nothing was a problem.   The staff were exceptional. I had arrived in Canberra around 8am. I called into the Mantra at 10am asking if we could get an early check in. We had booked 2 rooms so I asked if we could be near each other. Not only did we get an early check of 12.30pm but also got a free upgrade with rooms side by side. We particularly appreciated that the room had crockery and cutlery and a decent table with two chairs, in addition to tea and coffee-making facilities. This made it very comfortable to have breakfast in the room with things we bought from a supermarket the day before. Excellent bathroom, too.

  We loved Canberra. As for the Diplomat, we enjoyed the proximity to Manuka, Kingston and the Fyshwick Fresh Food Markets - the latter two within walking distance for the reasonably fit so we particularly enjoyed walking to them for breakfast in the morning. Beds were comfy the shower pressure and hot water was fantastic. I loved how close it was to airport and the lovely Manuka restaurant area.
