The hosts were very friendly and good natured. They offered to drive us to the club or down to the shops but we liked the (easy) stroll. On one occasion we borrowed their car to go for fish and chips at the Caltex which were great. The people of Balranald are some of the nicest laid back types you'll find anywhere - but remember to be polite and respectful - what goes round comes round ! ............ I recommend staying at the Capri for a rest or if your taking the Outback Geo Tour to Lake Mung.
alla recensioner » Effusive and helpful front desk. despite not knowing where everything was he was very helpful even to the point of offering to drive us to a nearby restuarant so that we could have a drink or two and not have to worry about driving back. In room meals were country style generous both in terms of taste and portion size. Good TV selection options too. Friendly owners…even offered me one of her yoghurts from her personal supply - we arrived late and were leaving early before the shops opened again. Short trip into town centre. Room clean and tidy, extra pillows, fresh milk in bar fridge. Though on main road, set back and reasonably quiet. Quiet, efficient Friendly service. Helpful suggestions. Driving from Brisbane to Victor Harbor, this was an ideally located, comfortable and affordable second overnight stop. Big room with plenty of storage space for a longer stay, (which we didn't need, obviously), but it was available. I reply on behalf of my partner Peter, who was very impressed with the service he was given. The lady in charge even left her car to him to drive the 1km down the road for dinner. Peter was in a truck which made it difficult to park. Thank you so much! Anne. We were travelling to Adelaide and made an overnight stop at the ' Capri Motel'. With the cheap price we thought that it would be less than acceptable but were surprised with the quietness of the room, right in town, comfortable bed. We'll stay there again. The owners are the nicest people, in business, I have meet for a long time. They seem to love having people around and they make you feel like family. Nothing was too much trouble for them. For good old country hospitality, the Capri is the place to be. Had a very enjoyable stay. Room was very comfortable and clean. The owners are very helpful and also serve great meals on the room service menu. The spaghetti bolognaise sauce was wonderful. This is a budget priced hotel but the stay was enjoyable. For a mature couple staying overnight, the Capri cannot be faulted. The staff were both helpful and friendly and we would not hesitate to book in on future trips. The owners were fantastic. Town very small very little to do, then again was just a rest stop on long journey. Nothing. Nothing. None to mention. bed a touch firm. On edge of town. Ice on the windscreen and the cold morning!. bed springs were due for replacement.... The amenities weren't the best.. The staff recommended going to the ex-servicemans club for dinner and I was refused service. Found a pair of socks under the bed. Dated decour, old noisy airconditioner, bed was "so so". Only way to get fresh air in the room was by running airconditioner. hard bed. The room looked like it had last been renovated in the 70s. The beds were uncomfortable. The toilet ran all night, We had a cricket in the room keeping us awake. The room was exposed to passing traffic/trucks. We will never stay there again.
