Due to travelling in separate cars my husband arrived at 8pm, however due to weather conditions I was severely delayed. The staff were helpful informing my husband of road closures etc. When I got there at 5am it was easy to find our room - the layout of the motel was not complicated. The staff were very friendly and helpful especially when we were trying to find roads to get home again.

The motel is located right by the old highway, thus easy to reach, and nicely nowadays not very noisy when the new bypass takes through traffic past Ballina. Good efficient two way air-con, gave the needed warmth during the cool winter night when we stayed there. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Beautifully presented and immaculately clean room. Very handy location, family tavern with great food, shops, beach etc. Lots of little things made it home like shampoo, conditioner, body wash, tea, coffee, biscuits and fresh milk. Would highly recommend and go there again. Felt very safe. Although old, the room was clean and well-appointed with a good bed (pillows were a bit soft), microwave and toaster, and internet access. The staff were friendly and helpful. Although on the main road, there was little noise - ideally suited for people travelling further south - and is out of the hustle and bustle of the CBD. Seeing this was the 1st time that we stayed at the Chaparral, So from our 1st experience it was very very good and we will be staying there again when we pass through Ballina, as it was close to everything that we needed.. Thank you Bookings.com. Although our stay encroached into the xmas period our whole stay was readjusted to the pre-xmas rate; good value for money. Tea and toast making facilities were excellent. Helpfulness of management and comfortability of the room. Especially liked the size of the shower heads and the very quirky shampoo, soap dispensers on the shower wall. I particularly liked the friendly welcoming service provided by the owners, Judy and Bob. The room was very clean and nicely appointed. Very good value for money. The motel is evidently starting to be a little tired, furniture, colours and materials used are from the 80s / 90s and thus look oldish - then again, it sort of fulfills the stereotype of a roadside motel. N/A. Pillows - should have brought my own. It was a bit far from the centre of town. Some traffic noise, but this is to be expected given the location of the motel. Needs better pillows. We had a deluxe queen room our only complaint was the bed, very old & hard not comfortable,mattress needs replacing!. not one thing. Insufficient blankets. I cannot leave the air conditioner on whilst sleeping as it dries out the room and I was cold during the night. My colleague in another room had the same problem. Not applicable. Mosquitoes galore. Take insect repellant. Nothing. No dislikes. all was fine. we could not connect the free wifi. It would have been nice as I arrived on such a hot day if someone had filled the water jug in the fridge so there was some cold water waiting for me. Cold shower was not enjoyable. It was the last thing we need after a nine hour trip. The bed was the most uncomfortable we have ever sleep. Hard bed Road noise.
