I stayed at apartment #5F, which is absolutely great for a couple, with views to Rockefeller Plaza. We were so impressed! Stayed 5 nights with 2 other families. Wecouldn't get over the size of the room or how well stocked the kitchenwas - full size appliances, too! The location of the hotel is excellent, within easy reach of all public transport and attractions. Lovely area and top class staff most, I have nothing but high praise for the housekeeping staff. Self-contained unit, safe secure entry, spacious with modern kitchen facilities. Plastic bowls and plates cutlery etc..but I guess it saves washing and breakage.
Good clothes storage facilities.
Neighbourhood is quite ethnic..but safe as we walked back fro the subway late at night and went shopping to try to buy food to cook..which was impossible

We were really impressed with the hotel. Surprisingly nice for such a great price. It isn't in manhattan but it is a 10 min walk between 2 metro stations and fast to get to everywhere. The area itself was multi cultural which means great food! Also, there were some really great cafes and bars in walking distance (we loved sycamore - which is a flower shop with a bar in the back, milk and honey - which has great breakfast, and there is even a coffee shop at newkirk plaza station that had Toby's

* The apartment was exactly as pictured! Even the Andy Warhol “Guns,” — (which may not be the best piece for small children to see).

We received the apartment on the highest floor - 36 with an astonishing view. We could see all the buildings including the Chrysler building. The people working there - always at their best - congrats guys, amazing service, outstanding and friendly at all times. the location - you are in the center of the world - NEW YORK CITY

more like living in NYC than visiting & living in a Hotel.. If you dont mind taking out the trash yourself and making your own bed, this is for you! Ask for an apartment as high up as possible. We got one on the 8th which was fine - but would have preferred 36th :-)
A lot of deli's, cafe's and grocery stores in the area for + a dunking' donut next door for a quick cup of joe or breakfast..
Can highly recommend the apartment - location in NYC is everything.. its a 2 min walk from the Empire
