  We really liked being in the upcountry and the quiet of the location. It was close to our son who lives in Pukalani. The local restaurants were excellent and fairly reasonable price wise. Staff were helpful and friendly; pool fine; decent-sized lobby for meeting up in; rooms were spacious and clean. There were 14 of us with 7 teenagers travelling as a group and it suited us perfectly. There is what appears to be a family unit next door. It shares breezeway. The large porch is shared but has some lattice type privacy barriers up. Separate entrances as well.

Lots of colourful birds flit around in the trees and there's lots of other cute wildlife. Its only a short drive to the best supermarket we found in Hawaii.   First, the value. It was nicer than most upscale hotels we've stayed at, and at half the price. All amenities were for comfort and our stay was great!   The Coral Reef delivered more than expected on nearly every level. We experienced beautiful sunrises and watched tai chi over our coffee each morning. The beach and ocean-side bike and walking path were literally steps from our room. The rooms are comfortable and the furnish is very nice! The breakfast is'nt opulently, but enough and very healthy and yummy!! We enjoyed it every morning! We can absolutely recommend this hotel !!!
