  We stayed in Burnham hotel from 5th to 8th of October, 2013. I enjoyed the whole experience of living here in the heart of Chicago Loop. The hotel has a perfect location close to malls (in front of Macy's), design shops (Nordstorm, DSW, Old Navy and etc.) and grocery stores (Target is the biggest one). It takes 40 minutes to get straight from the O'Hara airport to Wash - This is a great location for getting around Chicago downtown. Hotel has efficient and friendly staff; fantastic upper floors restored interior and history of the building is exceptionally interesting. Rooms are clean and comfortable with decent views if you are facing due east. Great bar and bistro on the ground floor. I will definitely visit again.

  When we parked I was a little concerned as it was our first time and up to this point the trip had been a horrible experience(our other hotel overbooked) just as we were arriving. I am glad they did. Once we got past the parking garage, the guy was cold and rude, and made our way to the lobby we were turned 180 degrees. There was a woman in the elevator who works for the hotel and was off duty, she even went out of her way to help - The staff was absolutely top-notch, especially the concierge, Rich. After an all-night Megabus trip, we stopped in to stow our luggage until the 3pm check in. They said our room was available immediately, if we would like an early check in (6 hours early at no additional charge). Unheard of! Amazing and gracious. This is my second stay at a Kimpton Hotel. I would be hard pressed to go anywhere else after this lovely experience.

  I liked the fact that it's the oldest operating hotel in the country & there is lots of history there. The design is elaborate & like a palace.   Well kept. Atmosphere was swanky. Enjoyed the "wine hour". We're a little older than the young crowd that seemed to dominate the guest list which provided some interesting people/dog watching during the wine hour. - The staff was very friendly and helpful. It was snowing out and they let me borrow an umbrella for free.
