  the welcoming atmosphere, friendly, helpful, but not over-intrusive staff. Hotel does not have unrealistic pretensions, it knows itself and doesn't pretend otherwise. Room was spotless and comfortable, with a surprisingly large bathroom. Excellent service and very good food at a very reasonable price. Silloth is a convenient, peaceful base from which to explore the Lake District. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. I will certainly be staying there again.
