Having normally called reviewers massive saddos looks like I'm becoming one of them, but I felt this place needed a helping hand from the "Oooh light coming through the door" "Ooohcreaky floorboard" bellends that have previously reviewed. It's a 15th Century inn, not a ruddy 2008 built Mercure.

Stayed for a few nights on business as I was working locally in Shepton Mallet. The Dusthole was ideal in that it was within the budget I had been given for bed, breakfast and evening meal (a meagre £75 per night). The food was of a high standard, all locally sourced (not a Brakes Brothers/3663 lorry in sight!) and cooked to order on the premises. I particularly recommend the beef madras curry, cooked by the landlord to his own recipe using fresh spices. As I am diabetic I was able to choo

Relaxed and laid back atmosphere was great, could float around in our spa gowns and slippers. Lovely room, breakfast was amazing. Some spa hotels have a strict check in at 3pm and leave by 11am, Charlton House were happy to let us use the spa for as long as we liked both on day of arrival and departure. This pl;ace is a real find. Tucked away but within easy reach of lots of tourist spots.
The food here is absolutely excellent. the breakfast is stunning with amazing choice - all sourced locally and cooked to order.
I would urge you to try this place -

The beautiful stone listed building was cut from a quarry (Quarr) and is entirely individual, not in the least a square building - nooks, crannies, walkways and the most beautiful garden. The owners are extremely welcoming. Nothing is too much trouble. Although I was on my own, I instantly felt safe and at home. I enjoyed a glass of cider with them in the evening.
The place is very clean and the bed was so comfortable.
