  We liked the hotel itself, it is very oldy worldy, the bed was lovely and comfortable, the bedroom itself was nice and spacious. Lovely open fire in the bar. The food was nice, but not what you'd call fine dining! The staff were friendly and did their best to assist us. - Quaint building, sensitively updated. Well-maintained public areas.   The hotel has recently been taken over by new management. They are working extremely hard to get the place back to a reasonable condition, with success. The bar area is comfortable, and the beer is good! My room was basic, but clean and had all that you need. Breakfast was booked on arrival and was very good, especially for £5. New lavatory and wash basin. Room, bedding and ensiute very clean. Plenty of heat from electric radiator. My case was carried up to my room by hotel staff. Freeview TV with built in DVD player. Easy access at any time of day or night. Price.
