Been before.. Will come again.. Individual character, staff are friendlyand go that little bit further with service. Superb and a pleasurableexperience. My two sons particularly love this hotel.. Internet access worked without any problem - unlike other hotels we've stayed. Our room was light, very clean, pretty bed linen, Having sheets and blanket was a lovely change from a duvet. Extra pillows in room without having to ask. Plenty of tea, coffee etc.

we could take our dog which was great as we were there for walking peak district. it was very close to the town and lovely park. staff were friendly,bar wasnt over priced and the breakfast was excellent. rooms were little dated but very clean at the price we thought very good value for money. -

Owners Michael and Fiona were an absolute delight, nothing too much trouble. Fiona even produced some rice cakes for my non-wheat-eating partner at breakfast, and Michael dropped us off in town himself when we asked about taxis. Thanks again, Michael. The bed was huge and comfortable, and it was a nice touch to offer a flask of fresh milk for tea

We were at a wedding nearby so popped over to quickly check in between events! We received a warm welcome on arrival and our room felt homely and clean. Very comfortable bed with loads of pillows and bedding good quality. Excellent breakfast next day, service very good. Fiona and Mike are a lovely couple who quickly make you feel at home. We would happily recommend Hawthorn Farm to others.

Both Elizabeth and Tim were very helpful, even though we had a twin room and two very big dogs to accommodate!!! They provided dog chews, maps for walking, and a wonderful choice of local produce for breakfast!!
The room was very clean and comfortable, but possibly a little tight on space for two and two dogs; more to do with us than the Manse!
The short walk from town centre, and the train station made it perfect for us.

We loved the warm greeting by friendly staff. The rooms were gorgeous with a large selection of hot drinks to choose from. The bathroom was well stocked with toiletries. Everything was very well kept and clean.
