  Was a bit wary given the bad reviews, but this was a fantastic experience. Lovely old castle with modern facilities, friendly staff, peaceful location with large grounds, huge beds, superb breakfast, and the gym and pool facilities were top class.   Skene Suites Holburn far exceeded our expectations. We had booked a 3 bedroom suite as we were grandparents and parents with 2 year old and 4 month old baby. I cannot speak highly enough of the suite we had- masses of space, lovely lounge , excellent and well equipped kitchen . very large bedrooms - in fact perfect for our needs. Also well stocked hone - We had a two bedroom appartment for three people and we loved the appartment right away. Plus the two bedrooms we had a sitting room with TV and a well-furnished kitchen. the bathroom was a bit small, bu okay. All of the appartment as well as the whole hotel was absolutely tidy. We had a full scottish breakfast and croissants, were waited upon by very friendly waiters and later on helped by the receptionist with recommendations for the city. I definitely can recommend this hotel.
