The hotel is located in the center of the city only a short two blocks from the Sol Metro station. We could walk to the major areas of interest and the Atocha train station (cab with luggage). The studio apartment was very good and over-looking the main tourist area. Yet it was not noisy as the air-conditioning and sound-proofing was good. The first day the studio was a hole-in the wall. But they apologised and cut a third of the room rent and moved us the next day. So when you book insist on the second floor apartment. -

I had a great stay in hostal Veracruz! The single room was good and very comfortable. Everything was also very clean and the staff was friendly. This is a fantastic place to stay when you need to move through the city and don't want to miss the ambiance of Madrid city centre!
