  Spa Hotel Alpina Hida was great! Everything about the hotel was spot on. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, the breakfasts were some of the best we had while in Japan, and the Spa was an amazing experience one should not miss! And go to the Jazz Bar- truly great.

  The room was a good size for the 2 of us.The bed was comfortable and had nice room controls for the lights on the headboard. I wanted to try out the sauna/spa which sounded intriguing with the aromatherapy mist room, however it was only open in the evenings.   We really liked the views from the hotel of the mountains and over the town of Takayama. The staff was very friendly and their English was good enough. The hotel is huge and though it might seem old, it still preserves the style and grace from back in the day when it was built. The onsen was great, with a bath inside and outside, separated for men... что говорят » and women with the possibility of renting a private one. The free shuttle bus in the morning was very convenient. The breakfast was abundant, however - Excellent hotel. We had a wonderful stay: beautiful public bath, spacious tradicional rooms with amazing view of the city. Extremely helpful staff although do not speak a lot of English. Breakfast was included and if was delicious!! As it is quite far away from the station they offer a shuttle free bus to the station at mornings. They even gave us a traditional tissue as a gift!!

  Don't worry about the location, The owner will drive you to Takayama Station. The location near the river is terrific. Grilled Hida beef at food stall (400yen per stick) by the river at the morning market is excellent. - The Spa was the standout! But Iguchi-san was wonderful and the acommodations terrific!
