  We stayed in the Vatnsstigur 11 building, which is perfectly located just off the main street Laugevegur - close to everything, but not disturbed by nightlife at all.   A quiet house in a residential area. It feels more like you've visited someone's house than staying in a hotel. There are several shared bathrooms, which are well equipped and maintained. There's even a full bath in one. There's a full kitchen with dishes, pots and pans and a fridge so you can cook meals if you wish.   Alfred was very friendly and helpful in arranging Flybus booking to make our stay pleasant as possible. Room is well equipped to make simple hot meals with cooker and microwave oven.   We arrived early, unannounced, and were warmly welcomed and shown to our room even though it was not quite ready. One of the owners proceeded to put the duvets and pillowcases on the bed while we chatted with her, just as a friend might do with a house guest.   The guesthouse is in a lovely residential area which is 5-10mins walk from town. It is a much nicer area to stay in as the other bigger hotels are in a less attractive area. I caught the bus (15) easily from the Fly Bus station. The guesthouse has all kitchen facilities for cooking and a good tv for everyone to gather around.
