  La Bastide Saint Martin overlooks a gorgeous piece of countryside, is set in a lovely big, sparse garden, has a great pool and it's rooms are quiet and simply, though beautifully decorated (we wanted to take the shutters home!). We knew the hotel was located outside of town but had planned to hire bikes to get around. Having don - My boyfriend & I both loved staying here, we stayed in room 3 & we were able to walk straight onto garden & to pool. We spent 1 night in the medieval city then 3 nights at La Bastide Saint Martin, it is more in the countryside & the outdoor pool is lovely for sunbathing, relaxing & switching off!   The hotel was in an excellent and beautiful location, literally at the bottom of the hill at the entrance to the castle. The staff were very welcoming and helpful and they all spoke great English. My boyfriend and I (we are both 24yrs old) visited the hotel spa during our stay for a back massage which was lovely - I highly recommend.
