Everything. We go to The Lakes often, but had not stayed in Keswick. The location, staff, room (very spacious) and facilities were very good indeed. We really look forward to returning soon to The Skiddaw Hotel. - Central location, high standard of accommodation, friendly staff.

The hotel was in a lovely setting in the select village of Wetheral, close to the city of Carlisle. Lovely walks by the river Eden, just minutes away and lots of history in the nearby St. Constantine's cell and the English Heritage abbey gatehouse. We wanted a real good value pub as a walking base for the weekend, we found one right in the middle of the lakes. From the moment we arrived the staff couldn't do enough for us - big thanks. The food was straightforward, good quality and great value. The beer was exceptional and again great value. We loved all the fires and so did our dogs. The rooms we ok, nothing special, but clean and comfortable. We will be returning again.

superb food,exellent and very helpfull staff, do not be put off by the price of food its not your regular steak and chips type of thing and its cooked to order! Facilities were great - used the swimming pool every day. Staff very friendly and helpful. Excellent quality food - booked bed and breakfast but after eating in on the 1st night didn't want to go anywhere else. - The Staff were always helpful, it was quiet and anice place to relax, and yet easy to travel to visit the area around.

Loved everything about our stay here. Really friendly and helpful staff who are all a credit to the hotel. Room had great view across to the lake. Large comfy bed, loads of storage space, hot and powerful shower, huge bath towels and more. Would definitely recommend evening meal at hotel. Food cooked to order so served fresh and hot. As a cycling group, several of us arrived late but they kept the kitchen open late to feed us which really was appreciated. Breakfast was fantastic and set us up well for our second day of cycling! Lovely place with friendly staff.
