Very Dog friendly, very welcoming and attentive to all of our needs. Tea and cake in the afternoon of our arrival was a nice touch. Central location made it handy for shops, high level of cleanliness and top spec furniture and fittings. Good beer!

superb food,exellent and very helpfull staff, do not be put off by the price of food its not your regular steak and chips type of thing and its cooked to order! have been to the Coledale Inn many times for meals over the years but this was our first stay .We found the experience a delight.A wonderful greeting on arrival.A spotlessly clean room-tastefully furnished and nearby residents lounge.A happy place to be and we had a perfect nights sleep.Breakfast was served by friendly staff in the dining room and was very good.We will be booking to go again and will recommend it to all our family and friends.

The hotel was in a lovely setting in the select village of Wetheral, close to the city of Carlisle. Lovely walks by the river Eden, just minutes away and lots of history in the nearby St. Constantine's cell and the English Heritage abbey gatehouse. I stayed here by myself for 2 nights. I had a standard single room, which was just what I need with plenty of space too. The beds were comfy, tea and coffee making facilities and some delicious homemade shortbread provided too. I felt very welcome from the minute I stepped through the door, especially as it was the first time I'd stayed away on my own. Nothing was an issue, and with the perfect weather it was pleasant to sit outside in the garden and enjoy a view of Lake Windermere. Service was

We wanted a real good value pub as a walking base for the weekend, we found one right in the middle of the lakes. From the moment we arrived the staff couldn't do enough for us - big thanks. The food was straightforward, good quality and great value. The beer was exceptional and again great value. We loved all the fires and so did our dogs. The rooms we ok, nothing special, but clean and comfortable. We will be returning again.
