  Friendly owners who make you feel like you are welcome into their home and who greeted us like old friends, remembering us from a single short visit we had made last summer. All the staff are friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere in Fairfield House is relaxed and cosy, and the garden is full of birdsong. Walk below into the quaint village of Bowness. We loved having the excellent breakfasts and heading straight out behind the house for hill walks with tremendous views over Windermere. Extremely comfortable, clean room and all necessary facilities. Staff were lovely and welcoming. Would happily stay again and definitely recommend.

  This was a really beautiful hotel. Easy to find, plenty of parking and in beautiful surroundings. The garden was particular lovely, as was the quality of the food (we ate off the bar menu and it was very high quality). Beds were super comfortable and rooms blended together the modern and old perfectly. The hotel has a lovely feel to it. We love the location. We love everything about the hotel and I feel that we will become regulars. we both have very stressful jobs and we work 13 hours most days. we like the fact that nobody can contact us on our phones. There is no guilt factor about work. It is peaceful unlike London.

  Everything! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, both at the hotel and the Lake District itself. The location was lovely, the staff and food were excellent and our room was better than we imagined.   We both enjoyed our room and the breakfast. The location was very good and we had a lovely view of the river. This is the first time we have stayed in Cockermouth, and It was a pity we could not sit by the river in the evening, but the weather was too cold, hopefully we will try to stay when the weather gets warmer. - Although we checked in late,... o que as pessoas dizem » there was no problem whatsoever. The staff were very professional and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. Even letting us stay in the bar late not trying to clear up around us, as has been done in the past at other hotels. Thoroughly recommended.
