They also has great suggestions for child-friendly places to eat and a wonderful location where we could walk wherever we wanted to go. Our room was also very comfortable with more than enough space for us and all of our kids accessories.

after a long journey our exhaust bracket on car had snapped,while Gail showed us to our room Steve strapped exhaust up to get us home after our stay.

- Windemere town is a few minutes walk and the lake approx 15mins walk (or £3.50 taxi)

- Direct access to room from garden by the car park making it easy to bring in bags and not disturd anyone if getting in late

The hotel was in a lovely setting in the select village of Wetheral, close to the city of Carlisle. Lovely walks by the river Eden, just minutes away and lots of history in the nearby St. Constantine's cell and the English Heritage abbey gatehouse. The room, although small, was immaculately decorated and very clean with lovely white crisp linen and soft fluffy towels. Facilities were great - used the swimming pool every day. Staff very friendly and helpful. Excellent quality food - booked bed and breakfast but after eating in on the 1st night didn't want to go anywhere else. - The Staff were always helpful, it was quiet and anice place to relax, and yet easy to travel to visit the area around.

Services/Facilities - superb. Wireless internet, flat screen televisions, ultra trendy bathrooms, 24 hour room service etc etc. Cleanliness - spotlessly clean. Comfort - superb, beautiful bedrooms with leather sofas and super kingsize beds. Value for money - very good, not cheap but worth it.

Had a problem with the room, something "shorted" and the tv and some appliances went off but it was sorted out in less than 5 minutes.

My wife and I stayed a few nights at The Ashberry Guest House. it is ideally located for both Penrith town centre and the North Lakes, northern M6 area. The owners are very helpful but not overbearing. The guest house itself is very modern, clean and comfortable. And the full English breakfast was very nice. Overall a great place to stay. Would definitely recommend it.

The hotel communal areas and our room were spotlessly clean and well decorated. Lovely room overlooking the rear gardens. Breakfast was exceptional due to the choice and flexibility of options available. Owners and staff were friendly, but left you to your own devices, which was good. Option to order champagne for the room on arrival, which we did!

Our rooms were charming and comfortable. Martin gave us great recommendations for eating in town, and for taking drives around the area. It was the perfect Lake District guest house experience!
