If M&S did guest houses, then the Penmorvah would be it... My wife
an I travelled to Penzance from the Midlands for a large wedding, The
owners were fantastic and brought fresh milk to the room every day, a
lovely touch. Our ensuite and bedroom had recently been fully
redecorated and was very clean and brightly lit too.The bed was comfy
and our quality of stay was outstanding,The full English breakfast we
sampled was high quality and If I scored the Penmorvah out of 10

We arrived as a family, having booked to stay the night before catching
the ios ferry the next morning. Arriving early afternoon to drop our
luggage off we had a chat with the very charming and friendly owner
(male), he suggested we may want to get the afternoon ferry on that day
(it had been delayed so was leaving at 2.30) as we would get to Scilly
earlier. We managed to do that, and we were so moved by the hosts
generosity ( he lost a booking because of it!). We will definately
recommend and .
The owners were really friendly and the rooms a good size. Really flexible on breakfast, you can choose whatever you want from a wide range of options and the service was excellent as they kept checking if there was anything else they could do. There was hot chocolate in the rooms which was nice as you don't always get that, and ideal for me when I turned up drenched! It's also walking distance to the town centre, ideal for visiting in and around Penzance. Would absolutely stay here again.
Very friendly and accommodating - we were welcomed warmly even though we arrived at 11pm, had a taxi booked for us and were given a packed breakfast as we were leaving very early to catch the 7.30am ferry. Our dog was made very welcome too and would give it 5 stars!.
Quiet location only 5 min from the centre and promenade, free public parking in front of B&B, host was friendly and accommodating (took time to have meaningful conversations with us), excellent value for money, no extra charge for having our pet with us.
Very freindly and helpful owners. Comfortable room and very comfortable bed. Stay here before and after our visit to Scilly islands. Early start for ferry crossing, so owners supplied a very good packed breakfast.
In a quiet location close to the town centre. Excellent breakfast and a very genial host who was welcoming and more than happy to stop for a chat and even carried a suitcase down the road to our car!.
The room was amazing, clean and comfortable, I really cant remember the last time I slept so well. Breakfast was wonderful and the staff were lovely and went beyond what we had expected from them. x.

Our booking details said we would have a room at the front with a bay window, we were given a side room with a view out over a roof. This did not matter on this occasion as it is on a busy road and there would have been traffic noise at the front. Would have preferred to pay by credit card rather than cash.

The telephone message on the answer phone was completely impersonal. It starts off "this is an answering machine..." It made me consider cancelling except that I had left it too late.

Room not as described in booking confirmation. Stated room booked was a
front aspect with bay window, which was partly the reason for paying a
bit extra to comparable rooms available for same dates. Ended up in a
room out the back. There appeared to be a barking dog in the next room
on the second night.
Duvet too thick and fell off bed. Mould in the shower, towels too small. Plumbing noisy from elsewhere in the house. Too expensive for what it was.
Beds could have been a little bigger.
