Looking out across the beautiful Lake District, family-run Meadowbank bed and breakfast is just 5 minutes’ walk from Ambleside’s charming centre. It serves freshly cooked breakfasts, made with local produce.
Each bright room features a TV and a private bathroom with a hairdryer, whilst many also boast views of Loughrigg Fell and the local countryside. A digital radio and free tea/coffee are also provided in every room.
Full English breakfasts are cooked-to-order by the owners of Meadowbank. Guests have views of the garden and Fells from the dining room.
Perfect walking and cycling landscape is on the doorstep, and restaurants and shops are less than half a mile away. The scenic northern shores of Lake Windermere are just over 1 mile away.

Located conveniently at the edge of the town, had a great welcome, with delicious homemade biscuits on the tea tray. Generously sized room (Ground Floor Twin) with very comfortable beds, lots of storage space. Electric sockets next to table and mirror. Good sized bathroom. Room clean and presentable. Lovely lounge with large TV.
Can highly recommend Dodd's, just a short walk into town as a lovely restaurant. todos opiniões »
From the moment we arrived we were made really welcome. Mike (the owner) was helpful in every way, showing us around and offering to carry our bags to our room which was very comfortable. Breakfast was a delight from the vast array of cereals & fruit available to the full English that we ordered on the first morning to the lighter choice on our second.
Very quiet b and b, central location to the town. The room was very clean, service was friendly. Breakfast was delicious and our host was most attentive. We had a very enjoyable stay and would stay again in this very historical, pleasant location.
Staff were friendly and had lots of local knowledge. Food was of a very high standard and even came with home made bread each day. Lots of period features in the building. Excellent access to Ambleside and the surrounding area.
We loved the friendly and helpful staff, the accomodation was clean and inviting. 5 minutes walk from picturesque countryside into the most romantic village of Ambleside. We have already recommended it to other travelers.
The staff was friendly, the breakfast was delisious, it was close to the
city center but also had country appeal. The view from the breakfast
room is increadable! The room was clean and very cozy.
Excellent breakfast-particulary the home made fresh bread each morning. Excellent friendly staff with a wide knowledge of the surrounding area. Fantastic location and very clean.

Great hotel! Very friendly and easy-going and a first class breakfast. Good location just a few minutes' walk from Ambleside centre.
We were very comfortable but the room was cool until the heat was turned on. Liked our room on the first floor - no stairs.
Its location within easy walking distance of the town was great. Easy car parking. Lovely room and friendly owner.

Helpfull & friendly owner. Quiet location on the edge of Ambleside just a short stroll into town.
The bedroom was very nice and the owner very helpfull.
Home made bread and biscuits and friendly atmosphere.
Not a lot.
No hooks to hang coats/dressing gowns in bathroom. Although there was light over mirror it was hopeless for makeup application. Would have liked to have seen more attention paid to cleanliness in bathroom - in and around the shower fitments in particular. Breakfast, although local produce, was a little disappointing, especially the bacon.
There was nothing we could fault.
Only one slow computer access to internet with no wifi.
the rain no yfi.
No WiFi was a little disappointing in this day and age.
Nothing.
The Weather was awlful.
Lack of WiFi seems a bit dated in this day and age. Breakfast starting at 0830 is a bit late for those wanting a full day in the hills.
The bed wasnt comfortable. A bit firm.
bed not very comfortable.
No Wi-Fi.
Bed was a bit to hard and creaky.
Quilt on double bed on ground floor too old and thin.
Wifi would be a added bonus.
No wifi.
Damp smell.
Difficult to enter the property from the south!.
The breakfast was not well cooked on the Saturday morning, it was only
luke warm,so we went for poach egg on toast on Sunday and only got one
egg on a piece of toast.
